Day 11 - Wednesday
From Ceduna to Norseman
Started to get some money out and put fuel in the tank ($1.48 Ceduna). Filled up a bit in Penong ($1.56.9). In Nandoo the price was the same. We also decided to count dead animals on the road so on this more than 1200 km stretch we counted: Dead Roos (or remaining of it): 84, 1 dead camel and 1 dead dog, not sure if it was a dingo or a unwanted domestic pet.
At the famous Nullarbor roadhouse you really get ripped off, unleaded $ 196.8. !!! We managed to make it to the Bordertown where it was $1.90. Also, you are not allowed to take any fruit or vegies over the border, there is a check point and they do want you to open all cupboards etc. Just a shame my beloved son opened his mouth too and simply offered information; 'is honey forbidden too??' Dayum, our honey jar got confiscated as well!!! He and his big mouth...........!!
Next town Eucla, $1.80 per unleaded litre. You would think that things would get better towards the main land............NOT!! Cocklebiddy $1.94. We had to fill up in Caiguna, stopped at the servo and guess what??? Flat tyre! My mechanic had told me that that one would be close to illegal so.....we changed the tyre like professionals, within 10 minutes, yeah baby. Fuel $1.97 here!!!!
Had a look at Balledonia... $1.98!! We arrived safely in Norseman ($1.70). The camping was expensive and really a crappy place but......we were tired and needed a sleep
We kept on driving because there really were no places along the road where we wanted to stay for a night!!
